Job Description:
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Profit & Loss (P&L) of the products.
- Depending on the lifecycle of the product line, key metrics
include gross profit, net profit, market share, revenue, and return
on investment
- Build, maintain, and grow a pipeline of products and projects
and can constantly feed the growth of the Business Unit
- Initiate Product development to meet customer roadmaps and
requirements to include the R&D roadmap, priority setting and
allocation, New Product Introduction, and product evolution
required to stay competitive and profitable
- R&D allocation: manage the investment (when and when not
to) required for product portfolio growth and continually monitor
success through the state gate process
- Leads development of proposals in line with customer
requirements
- Significantly influences the creation of the service offering
and its pricing
- Partner with Engineering and Architecture teams to provide
technical direction and leadership aligned with product roadmap
- Collaborate across the business unit, segment, and company to
drive vertical integration/product offering expansion
- Set pricing for the product line
- Set generic book pricing
- Drive and authorize customer-specific pricing
- Capital allocation required for the product line
- Evaluates and amends monthly Sales forecast in order to drive
the material plan
- is responsible for inventory implications caused by forecast
errors that adversely impact the P&L
- Develops frameworks, processes, and models to support the
product line and the business unit
- Collaborate with Sales to build the organization strategy on
the right contracting modes -
- Provide sales with customer communications messages and
strategies relevant to the product line
- Drive cost reductions by collaborating with Supply Chain,
Automation, and Operations colleagues
- Create and maintain tactical and strategic plans for budgeting
and 5-year plan
Education & Experience
- BS in related engineering field, MS preferred
- 12-15 years industry experience
- Experience leading/dealing with customers of engineering
companies
- 5+ years of people management experience in an engineering,
development, or technology role
- Demonstrated experience building ecosystems of products and
executing projects
Skills
- Seasoned business judgment and superior analytical abilities,
particularly in strategic business and financial analysis
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and
business acumen. - Must be able to judge situations with regard to
the larger business picture as well as the immediate need.

- Strong planning and leadership ability to get tasks
accomplished through non-direct reports. Ability to persuade and
motivate others. - Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively
at all levels of the organization. Ability, flexibility,
versatility and comfort level for working with multiple individuals
and personalities.
- Ability to work on many projects simultaneously and follow
through.
- Understanding of business strategies and ability to
formulate/execute plans to support said strategies.
- Ability to train, coach and mentor others.
Working Conditions
Willingness to work off-core-hours and travel as needed up to
50%.
