Job Summary:
Leads the sourcing management process by influencing the
development of the sourcing strategy definition across the
organization. Supports the strategic procurement of products and
services by directing others to perform data gathering and
analysis. Coaches others to evaluate high-profile strategic options
and participate in the creation of a sourcing strategy. Leads the
implementation of the sourcing strategy across the organization
through the selection, negotiation, and recommendation of awards
for sourcing contracts. Supports the continuous improvement of
sourcing processes by developing advanced strategies and
solutions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepares individuals for growth opportunities and advancement;
builds internal collaborative networks for self and others.
Solicits and acts on performance feedback; drives collaboration to
set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to foster
performance improvement. Demonstrates continuous learning; oversees
the recruitment, selection, and development of talent; ensures
performance management guidelines and expectations to achieve
business needs. Stays up to date with organizational best
practices, processes, benchmarks, and industry trends; shares best
practices within and across teams. Motivates and empowers teams;
maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning
resource plans with business objectives. Provides guidance when
difficult decisions need to be made; creates opportunities for
expanded scope of decision making and impact.
- Oversees the operation of multiple units within a department by
identifying member and operational needs; ensures the management of
work assignment completion; translates business strategy into
actionable business requirements; ensures products and/or services
meet member requirements and expectations while aligning with
organizational strategies. Gains cross-functional support for
business plans and priorities; assumes responsibility for decision
making; sets standards, measures progress, and fosters resolution
of escalated issues. Communicates goals and objectives; analyzes
resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporates them into business
plans; prioritizes and distributes resources. Removes obstacles
that impact performance; guides performance and develops
contingency plans accordingly; ensures teams accomplish business
objectives.
- Supports the continuous improvement of sourcing processes by:
developing advanced strategies for implementing continuous
improvements to support value optimization of awarded contracts;
developing solutions to maintain supplier compliance for strategic
and long-term contract terms across the organization, including
product/service quality, payment terms, and shipping requirements;
and directing the fulfillment of complex and long-term stakeholder
needs to foster stakeholder partnerships.
- Supports the strategic procurement of goods and services by:
directing others to monitor the internal and external environment
for trends and practices that can inform highly complex and
long-term strategic opportunities; and developing strategies to
perform complex market and sourcing analyses to optimize sourcing
strategy, supplier selection, and procurement implementation, and
engaging others on the team to implement.
- Contributes to the sourcing strategy definition by: developing
and influencing the development of complex and long-term category
profiles, savings plans, targets, and forecasts, across the
organization; and leading complex and long-term sourcing,
communication, and governance processes, across the
organization.
- Contributes to the creation of the sourcing strategy by:
developing and coaching strategies for the evaluation of options
and products/services to develop a wide range of complex and
long-term sourcing plans; influencing and fostering key stakeholder
relationships to drive and socialize category sourcing
strategies/plans; and integrating complex results of strategic
analyses to develop sourcing strategies across the
organization.
- Contributes to the implementation of sourcing strategy by:
influencing the development of requests for proposals and complex
bidding documents, across the organization, to generate options;
coaching team members to perform high profile proposal analyses
across the organization, and integrating results to inform supplier
selection; negotiating and providing guidance across the
organization to negotiate highly complex and long-term pricing and
terms for large dollar contracts (e.g., delivery, quality,
performance) with suppliers for products and services to ensure KP
receives the best value for dollars spent; executing drafting of
complex business terms leveraging expert understanding of industry
relevant contract terms and conditions; reviewing and determining
contract awards across the organization and influencing key
stakeholders to approve recommendations; and guiding planning for
the effective implementation of sourcing strategies, across the
organization.Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience managing operational or
project budgets.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with
direct reports.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in healthcare experience
or another heavily regulated industry (e.g., Banking).
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Material
Management, Economics, or related field AND Minimum ten (10) years
of experience in purchasing, contracting, material management,
finance or directly related field, OR Minimum thirteen (13) years
of experience in purchasing, contracting, material management,
finance or a directly related field.
