Job Description:
Position- Accounting ManagerAs an integral member of this
dynamic Department, the ideal candidate exemplifies the Corporate

attitude. Under limited supervision, the Accounting Manager
coordinates and manages the organization's finance and accounting
functions within corporate and regulatory guidelines; oversees
monthly GL close process and GL set-up/maintenance; prepares and
reviews GL account reconciliations and audit schedules; assists
with audit communications and coordination; manages the preparation
of financial statements and regulatory filings; documents and
enhances accounting processes; researches and analyzes U.S. GAAP
and non-profit accounting issues; assists with the implementation
of ERP system upgrades and assists with administration of company
policies and daily accounting and finance operations.--The person
will assist in the preparation of various financial reports and
analysis, audit schedules, and regulatory filings. This job class
requires comprehensive knowledge of GAAP requirements, financial
management, and reporting practices of non-profit organizations and
the ability to prepare and analyze financial reports is also
necessary. Duties and responsibilities:* Manages the work of
department staff, and provide for selection, goal setting,
performance management, professional development, work issuer
counseling, and rewards and recognition in accordance with company
policy, programs and procedures. * Manages routine GL system
maintenance and monthly GL account reconciliation preparation,
journal entry controls, and month-end financial closing processes.*
Supervises employees; ensures a competent, motivated team through
hiring, training, development, counseling and reviewing the
performance of employees.* Establish departmental work processes
and maintain written policies and procedures.* Manages the
preparation and coordinates the review of internal and external
financial reporting packages and regulatory and tax fillings.*
Assists controller with planning quarterly and year-end external
audit activities, including regular communications with auditors
and follow-up.* Prepares daily cash management reporting and
projects and analyzes daily cash requirements.* Participates in
meetings with company staff and management to exchange information
and resolve issues regarding the Company's internal controls and
processes. Coordinates with other departments to implement new
accounting controls and processes. * Provide effective leadership
and a clear vision to both employees and outside parties of the
division's purposes and goals. * Provides analytical support for
senior management members.* Assists with the planning and
implementation of ERP system enhancements and upgrades. * Schedules
and prioritizes tasks and ensures adherence to procedures, policies
and regulations while minimizing errors.* Participates in meetings
of contract start-up management and staff to answer questions,
researching information, advising on policies and procedures, and
escalate matters requiring the Controller and/or CFO's attention.*
Performs other duties and special projects as assignedAdditional
requirements:* Three or more years of public accounting experience
with a large CPA firm;* Five or more years of accounting experience
within a large company, including at least three years in a
supervisory role; * Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees,
provide for their professional development, administer performance
management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address
employee relations appropriately;* Thorough knowledge of generally
accepted accounting and audit principles (GAAP and GAAS);*
Knowledge of accounting systems and processes as applied to a large
organization;* High degree of computer literacy tin specialized
software related to accounting operations, including database,
Internet, spreadsheets and word processing applications;* Knowledge
of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulatory reporting
requirements, including those that govern non-profit entities;*
Familiarity with payroll processing and accounting systems,
software and requirements;* Ability to produce meaningful financial
reports and statements, including narrative reports, spreadsheets
and presentation materials and graphic representations;*
Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their
professional development, administer performance management and
disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations
appropriately;* Ability to effectively supervise and develop
assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to
safety policies and rules;* Ability to communicate effectively both
orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to
inquiries by senior management, customers and/or employees;*
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving
and analytical skills;* Exceptional customer service skills;* Human
relation skills to build effective relationships with team,
customers and public;* Advanced computer literacy including
knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and
presentation software;* Knowledge of business English including
vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and
punctuation;* Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply
concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to
practical situations;* Ability to establish priorities and solve a
wide range of business, operational and strategic management
problems; * Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and
handle numerous projects at the same time.
