About the Role Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. As a Senior Engineer, you will be building out backend platform in Java, implementing new business features in the order management supply chain domain with the help of onshore and offshore team members and tools for various business initiatives, and work on important new development projects for supply chain tech team, Collaborate with cross functional teams to strategize and prioritize the initiatives, develop best practices. Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (eg, issue, impact, criticality); performing root cause analysis to reduce future issues; engaging support teams when needed; developing solutions; driving the development of an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; and completing online documentation. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will write high-quality code that is consistent with our standards and full test coverage and assist in creating new standards as necessary Perform code reviews and ensure the deliveries are in high quality Serve as a member of an agile engineering team and participate in the team's workflow Drive the technology transformation in the microservices space As a technologist, you are expected to: Leverage subject matter expertise to drive architecture, decisions, and innovation Be a talent scout and help in hiring, coaching, and mentoring the team members. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in software engineering. Minimum 4 years of application development experience in Microservices development Messaging tools experience (Kafka, Tibco EMS.) Experience with Object-oriented design and development in Java technologies - J2EE and the Spring framework. Skilled at application performance tuning Internet technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript) Service-oriented designs and techniques (Web Services, JSON, SOAP) Database storage and interaction (SQL, Oracle, JDBC, "no-SQL" technologies) Skilled in software development practices and techniques including but not limited to: Source code managementbranching, tagging, and merging Code reviews and adherence to standards Automated unit and integration testing An understanding of, and enthusiasm for, SCRUM management techniques Ability to express thoughts and ideas in a clear, succinct wayboth oral and written Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time Ability to type on a keyboard and operate a PC Ability to converse over a telephone Ability to transport materials or equipment or lifting, moving, carrying objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis Ability to work in office and perform in corporate environment Benefits: Once you are here, you can look forward to a wide variety of benefits designed to help you grow, personally and professionally, to keep you healthy, to prepare you for the unexpected, to care for your family and to build a secure future.
