Position Overview :
The Systems Engineer - This engineering position is a critical position that is primarily responsible for the APM network infrastructure and operations as well as business continuity and disaster recovery. The Network engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of secure and scalable network connectivity and automation across the enterprise. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Administration of network infrastructure which can include Cisco and Meraki devices such as switches, firewalls, routers, WAP's, servers and telephony systems (Fuze) to ensure availability of network resources/services to authorized users
Maintain network software applications including FirePower, DNA, ACI, iOS as well as Cisco AnyConnect VPN
Perform activities related to the installation, configuration and management of networking devices and regular maintenance including upgrading of data network equipment to latest stable firmware releases
Conduct network analysis, bandwidth capacity planning and performance planning of networking components including network traffic optimization.
Manage hybrid connectivity between on-prem and public cloud such as Azure with advanced knowledge of interconnectivity options as well as cloud routing architecture and Azure security best practices,
Create and maintain documentation, including runbooks, ensuring accurate reflection of current state of APM network infrastructure and environment
Responsibilities can include assisting engineers with O365, backup and storage, as well as security including OKTA Single Sign-on (SSO) and Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)
Coordination with network and business application administrators, desktop support, project management and database administrators to ensure reliability, availability and stability of network and network resources
Performs research and analysis of new network technology and infrastructure evolution, architecture, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies.
Participate in or drive projects associated to the enhancement, upgrade/patching or implementation of new or existing networking technology solutions
Identify automation opportunities and implement scripted solutions; writing and/or modifying shell scripts as needed for automation
Monitor the ConnectWise boards for incoming requests including assigning and escalating accordingly
Respond to new requests and resolve technical issues encompassing hardware, software and networking within established SLA and SLO to provide technical assistance and support to ensure service availability
Track all work in ticketing system ensuring all assigned tickets have accurate and up- to-date accounts of all troubleshooting steps and follow-up details
Strict adherence to the use of our ticketing system for ALL incidents, changes, problems, and communication with end users and stakeholders
Work with vendor and client support organizations to troubleshooting diagnose and resolve issues related to networking but can include server, backup, storage as well as LAN/WAN connectivity issues when necessary
Provide mentorship and learning opportunities for networking and other Engineering entry level staff including cross training when necessary
Ability to travel to branch locations as required to organize, coordinate or assist with repairs, remote branch site light-ups and email migrations when needed
Provide regular updates to management regarding assigned projects
Response to datacenter outages during and after hours as directed by management
Other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills:
Practical knowledge of Cisco and Meraki technologies as well as Windows Servers, MS Office 365, VMware, Nimble, Barracuda, Commvault, SharePoint, Fuze UCaaS
Domain expertise in one or more of the following: networking, server, storage, security, management system-level software, cloud services, SaaS
Strong technical skill and experience with networking technologies
Experience in dynamic routing protocols which include BGP, OSPF and EIGRP; provisioning and managing MPLS services; Ethernet LAN (VLANs, spanning tree, etc); LAN/WAN QoS, firewalls and VPN administration
Experience in running and maintaining a 24x7 internet-facing production environment across multiple virtual data centers including public cloud
Good understanding of network designs and operations for on-premise and cloud
Experience managing networks in Azure and related monitoring tools
Technical, analytical, interpersonal and organization skills are required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to translate technical issues into terms business users understand
Keen attention to detail
Ability to present technical information in a non-technical business term
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a high pressure, fast moving environment
Ability to work well with others, as well as independently; a self-starter; must work productively with minimal direction
Ability to lift 75lbs with reasonable accommodation
Ability to stand, sit, for extended periods of time
Ability to work off business hours, respond to on-call events (off-hours system management, maintenance and communication), and light travel as necessary
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience
