Job Description:
At CalPortland, a leader in sustainable construction materials,
we strive to ensure optimal safety practices in every aspect of our
operations. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated
Safety Manager to oversee and enhance safety protocols,
specifically tailored for our production of cement, concrete,
aggregates, and asphalt. This critical role will oversee the
development, implementation, and enforcement of safety regulations
and programs designed to ensure worker safety, facility safety and
compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. Develop and
implement safety management plans and protocols. Conduct regular
site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and
hazard prevention. Coordinate training sessions for employees on
safety practices, emergency procedures, and the correct use of
safety devices and equipment. Maintain and update incident reports
and documentation to ensure compliance with safety laws and
regulations. Advise on various safety-related topics and propose
strategic solutions based on the latest industry standards. Oversee
the installation and maintenance of safety devices and equipment.
Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure the organization meets all
local, state, and federal safety requirements. Strong knowledge of
safety, health, and environmental regulations in the construction
industry Proficiency in hazard recognition, risk management,
incident investigation, and safety training methods Ability to lead
and influence others Strong communication and interpersonal skills
